1991 ARRL NET DIRECTORY
Edited by Steven R. Ewald, WA4CMS
The ARRL Net Directory lists all Amateur Radio PUBLIC
SERVICE nets of interest to North American amateurs and registered with
the ARRL. All nets must be registered to be listed. NTS-affiliated nets
should register via their ARRL Section Traffic Manager or Section Manager
(listed on page 8 of QST). Non-NTS nets are requested to use form FSD-85
available from ARRL HQ. All NTS section/local nets should be registered with
the appropriate ARRL Section Traffic Managers.
This directory is for information purposes only; the listing of a
net does not imply that the net has any official connection with the ARRL.
The frequencies given should be considered "approximate," inasmuch as it
may be necessary for nets to vary their frequencies according to band
conditions at the time. Further, no amateur or organization has any
preemptory right to any specific amateur frequency.
An explanation of the information compiled for each net follows.
All Nets in the Master List are listed alphabetically under its state
heading. The VHF Nets are recorded first, followed by HF Nets.
SPECIAL NOTE ON STARTING TIMES Starting times for nets are listed in
UTC. Since many nets meet at the same local time throughout the year, that
means these nets would meet one hour earlier UTC when Daylight Saving Time
is in effect.
Example: The Connecticut Slow Net meets at 0030 UTC, Tuesday through
Saturday. This is 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard Time.
When Daylight Saving Time is in effect, the Connecticut Slow Net meets at
2330 UTC. Please refer to the time conversion to UTC chart elsewhere in
this directory.
NET NAME Those nets that have asterisks (*) in front of their
names are nets that are affiliated with the National Traffic System (NTS).
Nets are not listed as NTS nets unless specifically registered as such with
appropriate liaisons and coverage areas. Some nets have multiple meeting
days or frequencies. This information is directly below the first listing.
FREQ. HF net frequencies (below 50 MHz) are listed in
kilohertz (kHz); nets on or above the 50-MHz band are listed in megahertz
(MHz). Repeater frequencies are indicated by a slash bar (/); the first
frequency is the repeater input and the second is the output. The
information is published as received.
DAYS Days of operation are listed in Universal Coordinated
Time (UTC): Dy = Daily; M = Monday; T = Tuesday; W = Wednesday; Th =
Thursday; F = Friday; S = Saturday; Sn = Sunday; H = Holidays; 1+3 Sn =
first and third Sunday of each month. 1 M = first Monday. Nets that are
shown with three asterisks (***) in the DAYS column are called up
as needed.
PURPOSE The purpose of the net: E = emergency preparedness; T =
traffic handling; W = weather; O = other purpose; L = local net; S = NTS
section net; R = NTS region net; A = NTS area net. All NTS nets include
traffic and emergency in their purpose.
COVERAGE The primary geographical vicinity that the net serves.
MGR. The callsign of the net manager or other amateur to whom
correspondence may be directed.
DATE Date the registration information was entered.
Dashed lines (----) indicate that information is not available.
Further information about nets can be obtained from your Section Manager
(SM). Your SM is listed on page 8 of every issue of QST.
